2nd Place – Steve Krause

3rd Place – Alan Sanders

We had a beautiful day for our running deer shoot, we had twenty-one shooters come to try their luck, and the most we have had in the time I have been in charge of the range. We had plenty of laughs, some gun problems and a lot of jokes tossed back and forth. I want to thank everyone for coming to the shoot, and special thanks to the people who came early to help fix the problem on the range so we could have the shoot, you who you are, thank you. Hope to see you all at the muzzleloader shoot; it’s always a good time. Bill

Deer Pool opened August 4th and closes September 14th. Anyone interested in a youth weekend deer pool see Sgt of Arms Bob Hartford at a meeting or call him at 603-623-1577.

Archery The GSB shoot on August 29th had 76 archers competing. The next scheduled shoot is in January.

Hunter Education:  A Hunter Ed Field Day was held on August 28th with 22 students posting some of the highest scores in a long time.

Another Hunter Ed Field Day is scheduled for September 11th, the range will be closed.

Family Campout: RSC hosted a family overnight campout on Saturday & Sunday August 21st & 22nd and a great time was had by all. A total of 48 participated, 21 of which were children. Events included an egg race, wet sponge toss, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hillbilly horseshoes, an ice cream social and camp fire to end the evening. The son-in-law and grandson of Harry Jencks erected an authentic Native American campsite on the far side of the pond fully equipped with a teepee, animal skins and jewelry. These gracious volunteers entertained the campers (and numerous non-campers) with native American dances and plenty of folklore. Wayne Welch, a local horse man provided wagon rides for all campers with his “pullin” horses on Sunday morning. Because of this event’s success, RSC is planning to hold more family oriented events in the future. If you have ideas or suggestions for these events, please bring your suggestions to one of next club meetings.

CPR Class: RSC will be hosting another CPR certification class in the near future and we are collecting names of people interested in participating. No date has been set yet, but if you are interested please contact Norm at 603-498-5875. The registration fee is $15.00 per person.

For members looking to log work hours for their membership, the kitchen committee offers many opportunities to fill that need. IF you are interested, please see Norm at one of our club meetings.
